Feb. 20 7:06 p.m. ** UPDATE **
The Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash with injuries in the W6400 block of County Hwy C, in the Town of Washington. The crash location is approximately 4 miles west of the Village of Monticello. Deputies immediately responded to the scene along with Monticello Fire Department, Green County EMS and New Glarus Fire Department.
Preliminary investigation determined a 58 year old female of Argyle was stopped in the westbound lane of traffic with hazard lights activated. The female was outside of the vehicle and was in the process of securing a loose dog that was found alongside the roadway. As the female was on the driver side of her vehicle, a silver colored eastbound vehicle collided with her. The eastbound silver vehicle fled the scene of the crash. The Argyle woman sustained life threatening injuries at the scene and was subsequently flown from the scene by UW Med Flight medical helicopter.
As a result of the motor vehicle crash, the 58 year old female of Argyle was pronounced deceased at UW – Hospital in Madison. As the investigation has advanced, Green County Detectives have been assisted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Rock County Sheriff’s Office and Green County Coroner’s Office. Investigators continue to review and analyze physical and digital evidence. Investigative developments and evidence has led the investigative team to believe the public can provide further assistance.
